Seven easy ways to say goodbye to humidity.
If you suffer every winter with humidity at home, we have solutions for you to eliminate it once and for all. Moisture is responsible for the appearance of mold and damp atmosphere in the room. The problems are not only limited to the house but also to its occupants, since it favors asthma attacks, arthritis and headaches.
How will you deal with the humidity?
Use a heating device. Did you know that your air conditioner has a dehumidification function? Turn the settings to DRY and let it run for a few hours, depending on the extent of the problem. If you don’t have an air conditioner, use a portable heater. An air heater or an electric radiator regulates the temperature of the room and consequently, the level of humidity.
Raise the temperature of the house.
The low temperature of the house is an ally of humidity. Try to keep the room temperature at 21 degrees. A warm space will help you know the room temperature at all times. Decorate the space with plants. A few small pots still help to combat its humidity, since plants, and especially cacti and orchids, can be used in its place. Be careful not to water them too much.
Get a dehumidifier.
Buying a dehumidifier can do wonders for removing moisture from the air in your home. You will be surprised by the amount of water it collects in its special container after liquefying the water vapor, especially in places like the bathroom.
Don’t hang clothes around the house.
One wash in the washing machine emits two liters of water into the indoor air when it spreads the freshly washed clothes inside. Try spreading them outside to reduce the humidity inside your home.
Do not put the firewood in the house.
A small tip that can make a difference is to avoid storing wood for the fireplace at home. Freshly cut wood contains a fair amount of water which adds to the moisture level.
